Who Donate Blood :

If you are Male , you must
  • Be healthy
  • Be at least 17 years old in most states
  • Be at least 5’5”
  • Weigh at least 150 Ibs.

If you are female , you must

  • Be healthy
  • Be at least 17 years old in most states
   • Be at least 5’1”
  • Weigh at least 130 lbs.

  • Weigh at least 110 pounds. • Have not donated blood in the last 56 days About Blood Group : Here are four major blood groups determined by the presence or absence of two antigens – A and B- on the surface of red blood cells : • Group A -has only the A antigen on red cells (and B antibody in the plasma ) • Group B – has only the B antigen on red cells (and A antibody in the plasma ) • Group AB – has both A and B antigens on red cells (but neither A nor B antibody in the plasma) • Group O- has neither A nor B antigens on red cells (but both A and B antibody are in the plasma) There are very specific ways in which blood types must be matched for a safe transfusion:


 
Group O can donate red blood cells to anybody. It’s the universal donor.

 Group A can donate red blood cells to A’s and AB ‘s .

 Group B Can donate red blood cells to B’s and AB’s

 Group AB can donate to other AB’ but can receive from all others

In addition to the A and B antigens there is a third antigen called the Rh factor , which can be either present (+)or absent (-).in general ,Rh negative blood is given to Rh –negative patients, and Rh positive blood or Rh negative blood may be given to positive patients. r />
• The universal red cell donor has Type O negative blood type.
• The universal plasma donor has type AB positive blood type

1.The life period of any blood cells is only 120days .after that it will be damaged .so if we give the blood by any person it helps this .persons/humans being our body make new blood cell every time

2 . Every person can donate 8ml blood per kg according to their weight it cannot harm this person.

3.     Every man can donate their blood after months and every woman can donate their blood after 6 month .
